Hi, welcome to week 36!

Fiks tested positive for COVID late last night while we were gaming. Which means I’m probably going to catch it. As of the time of starting this I feel fine, just tried because I didn’t sleep well last night. And I tested negative this morning.

I slept in the guest room last night, took all the sheets and blankets off and pulled down a sleeping bag and grabbed my gravity blanket and Gucci and a pillow and attempted to sleep. I had my audio book going for most of the night, and kept waking up to the floors creaking, something I’m usually able to ignore. I think the whole stress of the situation and stress about not working kept me up.

I got up and took a COVID test, then went and checked on Fiks. He’d just finished talking to a doctor who prescribed him some meds for it and that he needed to be picked up. Too bad they were like 30 minutes away instead of down the street, but whatever. I went and put on a mask and went over to my parents and walked Lumi before coming home and having my protein shake for breakfast and started watching IZombie. Got a little into an episode before getting up and dressed to go get the meds.

I hopped into the truck and went over to get the meds, found the place okay and walked in. I had to wait for his name to be called, which was fine. I just sat and read my book and talked with a friend while I was waiting. Once I had the meds I worked my way home. There was a lot of beach traffic going my way, so it was slow rolling to say the least. 20 minutes more to get home then to get to the pharmacy.

I went to the grocery store once I was in town, and hit up CVS to get more of my protein shakes. I then hit up Safeway and got almost everything we needed. I forgot the list so I’m sure there’s some stuff I forgot. I came home and took out the garbage and recycling cans before parking the truck and coming inside. I went to go see Fiks and he was passed out in bed, so I let him be. I turned on IZombie and started chatting with my Cousin.

Fiks eventually woke up long enough for me to give him his meds. I’m assuming he took one and then passed out. My Brother is being a super hero and bringing everyone soup that he made. It turned out really good. I kept checking on Fiks who slept the day away. But he was rolling over and snoring, so those are both good signs. I woke him up one of the times I checked on him. I told him there was dinner and I wanted to take a shower. He got up to get soup and I took my shower.

I came out and he was on his computer eating soup. I put my mask back on and flopped on the sofa, turning on the TV for background noise as I read my book. Exhaustion hit Fiks again and so he went back to bed and I stayed on the sofa until I was tired and it was time to go to bed.

I didn’t sleep the best. I took a hot bath with Epsom salts and lavender and soaked in that for a little bit before hopping out and going and grabbing my bottle of ambien to knock my ass out. I was gone within 20 minutes.

I think I need to change the noise on my alarms. This is like the third time I’ve slept through them. But I got up and put on my mask and checked on Fiks. He was sitting up in bed and doing alright, he still sounded horrible but he said he felt a little bit better. Then I went over to help walk Lumi at my sister’s house. Poppa was looking for his wallet, not remembering where he put it. But we took Lumi for his walk and then I came back home.

I turned on the TV after grabbing my protein shake and turned on Great British Bake off for a while and talked with my cousin for a while. After I was done with Bake Off I went and grabbed a load of laundry and got that started before working on this with The Nightmare Before Christmas put on in the background.

After the Nightmare Before Christmas I put on Disneys Hercules. Apparently it’s a Disney movie day for me today. Fiks came out a couple of times to get water and to check on his computer. I went in once to check on him and he was completely passed the duck out. Which is fine. He needs that to get better.

After Hercules I went to Hulu and put on Sweet Home Alabama for background noise as I tried to finish my book. After the movie I turned on GBB and watched that until I started dozing, then I moved to bed and tried to take a nap. I was able to rest but not nap, which sucks. I had soup for dinner, so did Fiks. I watched more IZombie until it was time for me to go to bed.

I slept pretty good last night for me at least. I had a hard time getting there, but once I was there I was gone. I woke up with my alarms and stayed in bed for a little bit longer and then I got up and masked up and walked over to my parents to walk the dog. Poppa had just gotten up and was feeding the cats, he told me to come back in 30. So I came home and did my COVID test (should have done that first), and had my protein shake for breakfast.

I went over after 30 and Poppa and I walked the dog, and then I came home. I flopped on the sofa for a while until my doctor’s appointment which I took in the guest room so Fiks could come out of the main bedroom if he wanted to. My appointment went well, even if I did reject her call by accident 😬. But she called me back after I called the clinic and told them what happened. It went okay and we scheduled one for 3 weeks. I’ll just have to remember to take notes until then.

I checked on Fiks a few times while flopped on the sofa again, and I managed to fall asleep until our meal box got dropped off with a thud by the door. I woke up and grabbed the box and put the meals away, then I bugged my cousin into doing a movie. So we watched The Devil Wears Prada after she was done with dinner.

I’ve never seen the beginning before, I usually come in 15-20 minutes after it starts. Where she’s wearing the blue sweater, so that was nice. We chatted the whole time, which was good. Afterwards I went to go move the laundry and the washer hadn’t drained water. I couldn’t get it to restart, so I went and got Poppa and he scared it back into working form. Then we went and walked the dog.

When it was time I started cooking dinner. Sweet and sour shrimp with rice. It was pretty good if I do say so myself. Sorry, the picture turned out super blurry, but just take my word it was good. I kept watching IZombie until I went to take a shower because I got hot and sweaty in the kitchen. I then watched some dropout skits and went and talked with Fiks before going to bed.

I slept pretty good last night again, so yay. I also tested negative, but I feel like crap. I texted my manager and she said to come in and do a half day, I said okay to that. I had my protein shake while I was waiting for my test and then I went over and walked the dog. I came home and got into my scrubs and filled up my Gatorade bottle, ran COVID tests over to my parents and headed into work.

I got to work a little late, but if there hadn’t been nearly as much traffic I would have been fine. There were people already waiting to be roomed when I punched in, and no one else wanted to grab it so I did. And then the morning just kept rolling on. We had a cat come in with bad bladder issues. Like he was probably blocked and then he managed to pass whatever was blocking him, but his urine is just blood and he bled all over himself. It’s pretty bad. We have him hooked up to fluids right now.

I went on break and came back to a dog covered in blood and a room looking like a murder happened. I asked what happened and was informed that the dog had an ear hematoma and she shook her head and it burst everywhere. The walls, the floor, the cabinets, the doctor and the dog were all covered in blood. The doctor had to change clothes because of it. She’s never heard of or seen anything like that happening. They were in the process of cleaning up the room when I walked in. I started spraying the blood with hydrogen peroxide to clean up when G walked over with the wet Swiffer and took over the floor.

A and G had the dog, M and S had the room and E and I were busy rooming until lunch. G went to lunch first, so we were still seeing appointments so it was kinda crazy. After G came back S went and we started working on the ear hematoma dog. G held her in front, A held her face and I sat behind her so she couldn’t back out. The vet applied some numbing medicine and antibiotics into her ear before she wrapped it up and put… Well… Basically a sleeve over her head and taped it into place. M went to lunch next which was fine. After helping with the dog I started cleaning again and just waited until it was my turn to go so I could go home.

I came home and looked for Fiks who was sitting in bed playing Breath of the Wild on his switch. We talked for a little bit and I got changed, and then we both moved to the sofa. We’re both wearing masks still. He played Breath of the Wild for a while, and I sat and watched and dozed off and on for a little bit. Fiks eventually got hungry and both of us said that we weren’t really up for cooking, so we ordered food. Pizza and wings for Fiks and Togos for myself. We watched YouTube and dropout for the rest of the evening. When it was time I took a shower and then crawled into bed to read my book

I slept pretty well last night. I woke up once and rolled over and turned on my audio book again and fell back to sleep. I woke up with a little bit of a sore throat, so I went and took a COVID test, grabbed my protein shake and turned on Cutthroat Kitchen while I waited for my test. It came back negative. I then walked over to my parents to walk Lumi and Poppa had just gotten up so he asked me to come back in a little while. I went back home and put on Unearthed and fell back to sleep for about an hour before getting up and heading back.

Poppa and Lumi were ready and waiting for me, so we went for his morning walk. I then went back home and flopped back onto the sofa and put on Unearthed again and dozed until Fiks came out a while later. Apparently he stayed up late playing Starfield on his computer. I switched to IZombie and watched that until it was lunch time. I made myself a sandwich and grabbed an ice tea and ate while Fiks was busy taking a shower. He took his test and still came back positive, the poor guy. I went and got dressed once he was done and then I left to go get my hair done.

I’m with my hairdresser right now. We’re doing red on top and a neon rainbow underneath. We’re both really excited about this, so that’s nice. My old hairdresser rarely did anything fun with me like this. This is the effect we’re going for, not the colors.

There was a lot of bleaching my hair for the rainbow effect, it turned out really well. Did I remember to take photos or a video? Nope. How long did it take? 3+ hours. Worth it? I think so. I came home when we were done and showed Fiks, and he really likes it (yay!). Afterwards I flopped on the sofa and watched some IZombie before I walked over and said hi to my Parents and the dog. Then I came back home and continued IZombie for a while, making myself a cup of macaroni for dinner and drinking some Gatorade. After I finished with IZombie I went back over to my Parents and walked Lumi, said goodnight and came back home and worked on this.

Once I got there I slept pretty well last night. I had to get up stupid early because I was opening this morning and I still had to walk Lumi. So I took my test (negative) and had my protein shake and realized I was cold (not a good sign). I went and got dressed for work and threw on my Halestorm hoodie and walked over to my Parents so I could walk Lumi. Poppa was up and ready, and so we got him ready for his walk and off we went. He was a good boy on his walk, so that was good. I came home and quickly packed my lunch and filled up my bottle for Gatorade and off to work I went.

I got there right on the dot of start time. I got a call from T, she was wondering if I wanted anything from Starbucks and I said no thanks, then she said she was coming in early to talk to me about work stuff. Great, set off more of my anxiety.

I walked in and A was in reception grabbing files. I clocked in and then I started getting the surgery files ready. One was very confusing for some reason. 5 pets, 3 boys and 2 girls. The 3 boys were getting neutered today, but I kept printing the girls for some dumb reason. Eventually I figured it out, tho it took me like 3 times to get it right.

T showed up after that and we went over some work things before the day started. F showed up as we were checking in the surgeries. I stayed and covered T and F lunches and then I came home. I took a nap on the sofa and woke up and checked in on my Parents, who were doing fine. I took Lumi for a walk, he was a good boy.

I came back home and turned on IZombie and watched that for a while. Or was it a movie? I don’t remember. Anyway, when I was done watching TV we started cooking dinner. Steak with goat cheese butter and potatoes and broccoli.

We watched YouTube for the rest of the evening. When it was time I grabbed my stuff and went to bed.

I had a really hard time getting to sleep, I moved out to the sofa and managed to fall asleep there, so when I woke up I moved back to bed and slept.

My alarms went off but I apparently ignored them. I rushed through my breakfast and ran over to walk Lumi with Poppa and took a COVID test, and got dressed and went to work.

Work was okay. Only had one rush so that was good. I left a little early because I just felt horrible. But T said it was okay and there were only 2 appointments left. I came home and took a shower and Fiks asked me to take another test, so I did.

Positive. Fuck me.

I stayed in the guest room the rest of the day, coming out for food and to say hi to Fiks a few times. I watched a couple movies and a lot of IZombie and Cutthroat Kitchen.
