Hi and welcome to week 39!

I know I’ve kinda fallen off the blogging bandwagon. And I’m sorry. Life has been a bit crazy and draining and I’m not having a lot of energy since COVID so I’m always tired when I get home from work and don’t want to work on anything.

Last night (Saturday), we didn’t have gaming so we went on a date and went and saw A Haunting in Venice. Its sooo good. It was great. It was like a ghost story and a Poirot movie mixed into one.

They were even jump scares that got Fiks, so that was amazing. Me, I knew I’d jump. I don’t really like scary movies, and you could sometimes guess when a jump scare is coming, so I would tell myself ‘there’s a jump scare coming’, and I’d do okay. Anyway, that was my movie recommendation.

We both went to bed and read for a while before falling asleep. I slept pretty good for me once I got there, getting there has been a problem for me lately. Again. I had messaged my Cousin if we were going to watch a movie today and I had a yes waiting for me when I woke up. I smiled and got up out of bed and made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and took some over to my Sister’s house for everyone. Then I came home and ate mine and watched some M*A*S*H and managed to fall to sleep for a little while.

I woke up to a message from my Cousin that we were going to have to skip the movie, something had happened over there and they weren’t able to make it. Its not my story to share. But I felt/feel useless being so far away from them. I told her that if she needs me, just to say the word and I’ll come up with some way to make it over there for her. Its a scary time, and I know she’d do the same for me. I went and got a hug from Fiks and told him what was going on, and how useless I felt. He told me to be there for her, and that we’d go from there.

I sat down and turned on some music and read my book for a while. Then Fiks wanted to go get his hair cut, and since he was heading down the mountain to get groceries, so I said sure since school starts tomorrow and I don’t know if I’ll be going out or not through the day. We got some Bundt cakes while we were waiting for Fiks’ appointment to get his hair done. He was basic and got a pumpkin spice one (shocker! 😉 ) I read while he got his hair done, then we went to the grocery stuff and came home since we had dinner at my Brother’s house tonight. We both had snacks when we got home.

My Brother asked if we could pick up 5-10lbs of potatoes on our way over since we were having pot roast and you need mash potatoes to go with pot roast. We picked up 5lbs from the market and went to my Brothers house and started washing, pealing, and cutting potatoes. Of course my Sister showed up when all the work was done and wouldn’t even set the table. Grrr.

We all sat down and had some dinner, and it was good. Mom started worrying because it was getting dark, so my Sister took Mom home and the rest of us stayed for desert of pumpkin pie and fresh whipped cream. Poppa followed us home in his car, and then we pulled out the garbage cans and moved laundry and were productive adults. I logged onto school and did a few things there for class tomorrow, and tried to log into the program we’re using. Apparently we have to have a log in from the teacher and not the key that I’ve spent a lot of money on. So that’s frustrating.

We watched some Game Changer for a while, then I got up and took a shower and crawled into bed.

I slept pretty well last night. I was awake from like 420 until 5 when Fiks’ alarms went off. I was able to get back to sleep afterwards, so that was good. I slept until my alarms went off to wake up for class. I grabbed a protein shake from the fridge for breakfast and turned on M*A*S*H while I woke up. Well, I fell asleep until 5 minutes before my class orientation started, so I jumped onto my computer and put on my headphones and I was the only one there. I chatted with the teacher for a little while before another student showed up and then it was just the 3 of us for the orientation. The teacher seems very friendly, excited and knowledgeable about the subject, and she doesn’t seem like she’d look down on you for having questions (I’ve had math teachers like that before).

After orientation I went over to my Sister’s and said hi to everyone over there. Mom and Poppa are going back to 100 today to sleep the night over there. I chatted with Mom for a little bit and then I came back home and turned M*A*S*H back on and dozed some more. When I woke up I started the next load of laundry and brought in the garbage cans to the garage and put them away. I talked with Mom and Poppa while they were loading up into the car, saying I’d call them later, and then they took off.

I finished the episode I was watching, then I decided to try to do some math homework/classwork so I switched it to music and have been doing math ever since. Thankfully its mostly been watching videos and doing basic math and learning to use the interface since its an online class. Seems pretty user friendly. I listened to music and talked with a friend because I was bored, not sure what to do. I ended up reading and finishing my book before my doctor’s appointment.

Doctors appointment went well, afterwards I called and talked to my parents for a little bit before turning the TV on and picking a new book to read. I can’t remember what I put on to be honest, something just for background noise. Maybe I put music on for a little while. And then I turned to Dropout and started watching some stuff on there. Fiks texted me he was on his way home and I realized I lost track of time, so I got up and started making dinner. It was pork banh mi with rice and pickled veggies. It turned out really good.

I turned on Bolt while Fiks was gaming and eating with his other group and then when it was done I went and called my parents really quickly. They asked me to bring a few things over for Lumi tomorrow, so I walked over to my Sister’s and grabbed them so I wouldn’t forget in the morning. I then turned Dropout on again, and my Brother came over to say hi after fixing my Sisters printer. We introduced him to the Dropout app and then we showed him the ‘Yes or No’ episode that Fiks love so much he almost has it memorized.

Afterwards my Brother left and I finished the episode that I was watching before going and crawling into bed to read for a while.

I didn’t sleep well last night. I tried all of my tricks and eventually moved to the sofa and turned on M*A*S*H and watched that for a while before falling asleep. I woke up when Fiks came out to go to work. I’d only had a few hours sleep when he woke me up to kiss me goodbye. I closed my eyes after wishing him a good day and fell back to sleep for another few hours before my alarms went off. I got up and got my protein shake and had that for breakfast before getting up and dressed to go to the dentist.

Got to the dentist okay, got there early in fact. I was taken back early and so we finished early, I made a few appointments for next months and my next cleaning and then I went to 100 to check on my Parents. They were doing well. Poppa asked me to help him with the well, so we did that. Then we tried to jump the F350 from my little F150 and that didn’t work. By that time it was time to come home for school, so I said my goodbyes and came home.

I got home and messaged my teacher about something I got from the school, seeing if she got it. I watched some Dropout until it was time to start class then I switched over to music and paid attention because it was the first kinda class we were together. I even did the screen sharing when the teacher asked for it. So that was good. Afterwards I called my folks and made sure that they were okay over at 100 and then I just flopped on the sofa for the rest of the day until Fiks came home basically. We watched YouTube together as we ate Chinese which he picked up on the way home.

I slept okay last night. I fell out of bed this morning when my alarms went off. That was a great way to start my day. I fell back to sleep on the sofa so I didn’t have enough time to make my lunch, so I scrambled into some scrubs and filled up my bottle Gatorade and then I rushed down the hill to get to work a few minutes past time. The day went okay, it was a weird pace again, but whatever. We got through it. It was me, A, G, S, and M and the two doctors and then M and G for reception up front. F was meant to be there too, but she called out sick. So I would hop up there to help her out really quick a couple times.

I got to trim the surgery dog’s nails once he was under. A has started me letting do that lately, which has been a nice surprise. I ordered my lunch when I was on a break and then I started talking with my Cousin at lunch. Its not going well over there, so I started looking at flights at how soon I could get over there if she says the word. I had that going through my head the rest of the day while at work. I sucked at my bloodwork today. Couldn’t hit a vein to save my life, and when I did hit a vein it would blow, which just pissed me off more. I’d rather miss than blow a vein. Grrr.

We got out at a good time and then I came home and hopped in the shower, Fiks wasn’t too far behind me, saying he was coming home while I was getting dressed. We sat down and tried to figure out what to do for dinner, neither of us wanted to cook or clean the kitchen. I did a snack tray and Fiks ordered pizza. We watched Only Murders in the Building.

We watched some YouTube afterwards. We watched one of Fiks’ D&D groups through Penny Arcade that he loves and I enjoy. It was about 2 hours. long, so it was fun, but I kept checking flights because my brain wouldn’t calm down about needing to leave at the drop of a hat. Afterwards we went to bed, I read my book and my brain wouldn’t shut up until about 3 am, but by that point I’d already moved to the sofa and turned on M*A*S*H.

I didn’t sleep the greatest, Fiks checked on me when he came out to get ready for work. I told him my brain wouldn’t shut up and he knew it was over my Cousin, so he was sympathetic. He’s been there. I went back to sleep after he left until about 8 when class was starting, so I did that half brain fogged. But I went. I went to sleep afterwards for another hour or so. I’m going to go back to working on school stuff after I’m done with this. And once I’m done with school I’m going to try to clean the kitchen so we can cook tonight.

I got through classwork okay, it just took a while. I’m still getting used to the platform that we are using for the class, which is fine. After I got done with class, I cleaned the kitchen while listening to the Ralph Report. I might have gaged on the smell of something, but that’s beside the point. I just stayed home and watched Law and Order SVU and waited to hear from Fiks on when he was coming home. After a while I gave him a call and he was on his way home, so I started making dinner. Honey butter pork chops and broccoli.

We watched some Ashoka while we ate and then we watched some YouTube after I came back from walking Lumi. Then we went to be where I read my book until I started falling asleep.

I slept okay last night, better than the night before. I got an update from my Cousin so that was nice. I got up and dressed and got my protein shake and watched some M*A*S*H and curled up on the sofa and then I realized it was Friday so I got up and going to miss the high school traffic. I got to work and sent out a few texts messages before switching shoes and heading in. I was up in reception today, and so I kept checking everyone in for the surgeries first thing this morning.

It was basically checking people in, running folders back, and then coming back. Oh, we did have Bash for a little while. He was very upset he was in his crate and was very talkative.

Not the best of him talking, but I was busy helping people when he was being super talkative. There was a little spat between the 2 receptionists over how to do lunch. We thought she came in at 730, when she was meant to. She didn’t get there until 8. I came in at 830 and the other receptionist came in at like 845. I ordered some Poke for lunch since I didn’t pack one, and so that showed up and then I went to lunch and ate that an read my book. I went back in and listened to the other receptionist bitch to the manager about the other one. I just stayed out of the way and kept my mouth shut.

We had a full schedule for the afternoon when I went to lunch. When I came back there were only 3 vet appointments and 3 tech appointments. Fine with me. The afternoon flew by until we didn’t have any clients, then it dragged. But then the surgeries were being picked up so that spent some time, and we had people coming in to make appointments and pick up medications. We waited until 530 and then we locked up the doors, said goodbye to the doctors and came home.

I went home and checked in with my Parents after going and getting some cookies to eat. First words out of my Sisters mouth were ‘ Oh good timing, you can make dip!’ I said no, and she gave me attitude. Whatever. I got Mom into the kitchen so they could eat dinner, and then I came home and took a shower and flopped on the sofa and watched SVU for a while.

I didn’t have the best night, and no, I don’t want to go into details. Just that it was ridiculous and uncalled for. I know I’ve said that I don’t want my Parents to leave, but I think that they need to for reasons. Very tempted to tell them to go to 100 and stay there and I’ll bring their stuff over in waves. I called and talked to Fiks who was on his way home and told him what was happened and we talked it over on his drive home. He stopped by Carls Jr. for dinner, and he picked me up a milkshake so we did that and watched some YouTube for a while before going to bed.

I had a hard time falling to sleep last night, but once I was there I was gone. I barely remember Fiks leaving this morning, and I didn’t want to wake up with my alarms, so I snoozed it once. I groggily got up and dressed and grabbed a shake and turned on M*A*S*H until it was time to go. I fed the fish and filled up my Gatorade bottle before leaving.

I got to work on time, changed into my work shoes and headed into the building. The day was okay, my coworker kept disappearing so it felt like I was doing everything. But I got to meet a puppy and a kitten that were both super cute and loved treats. I worked with a few German Shepard and a Husky that didn’t sing the song of her people while we were trimming her nails. We moved a lot of stuff into surgery, x-ray, and the kennel rooms so that the floors could be professionally cleaned. Then we were done for the day.

I swung by the station to say hi to Fiks on my way into town, but he was on road doing deliveries and wasn’t coming back any time soon. I got a text from Fiks telling me where he was and what was going on afterwards. I went to CVS to pick up some candy for gaming, and came out with a bunch of Halloween decorations. Whoops. And then I noticed that there was a Spirit Halloween store across the street so I went there. I bought a few Nightmare Before Christmas things and then came home.

I came home and dropped off my ill gotten goods and went over to my Sisters and grabbed Lumi and one of his treats and took him for a walk before bringing him back to my house. I gave him the treat and then went and took a shower. He was still chewing on it when I got back into the living room, so that was a good sign. I did some school work while waiting for gaming to start.

I think I’m going to leave it there for this week.
