Half A Week…(Week 48)

Welcome to week 48!

Oh my God. I died so many times in last night’s D&D session. The GM almost like killed me killed me twice. Once, thank God for temp hit points. Second time, thank God for Fiks’ character. But yeah, I died like, 5 times… Or more.

Once we were done with gaming I stayed up until Fiks got home because he got a call saying an alarm was going off at work and he had to go meet the police and secure the building. He said the building was secured when he came home. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night so I moved out to the sofa and turned on my audiobook and fell asleep.

I woke up when D came out, and I called and said hello to my parents for a little bit. We watched some Game Changer then I went into the bedroom to go to the restroom and woke Fiks up. We snuggled on the bed for a little while before he got up and I went to the rest room. I got dressed and went and sat down on the sofa, and then we went over our itinerary for the day. I had an appointment down the mountain, we had to find a new battery for the truck, go to a distillery for Fiks, do laundry and somehow fit in math homework. Fiks and I went down stairs and I started a load of laundry while Fiks worked on taking out the battery on the truck so we knew what to get and put it in his car.

Once we were all dressed and ready to go we left, and we headed down the mountain towards my appointment. The boys dropped me off and went to try and go get a battery for me and I went and got my eyebrows waxed. When I was done and paid for, I walked outside and found the boys sitting in the car. They weren’t able to get the battery for me because the shop didn’t have that size in stock. We went to the distillery next, but they were closed. Fiks took us on an adventure to go see the butterflies down at one of the State beaches. There were lots of people there and the butterflies weren’t super active because it was cold. But we did enjoy the view.

We went back to the car and then back to the distillery, where Fiks picked up some whiskey (shock). Then we went to a brewery and got some shrimp and chips for me and fish and chips and beers for the boys.

Afterwards we went to Costco and got some gingerbread cupcakes, muscle milk, and another whiskey and then we went to the grocery store and got what we needed for the week then we came home. D and I brought up the goodies while Fiks worked on putting the battery back in the truck. We got it placed and turned it over and its still chugging along starting but it is starting. So I’m not sure we solved the problem. We took out the garbage cans and moved the laundry and then I started working on my math homework and Fiks started playing on his computer and D started nodding off so he went and took a nap.

Fiks and I just hung out and had the TV on in the background. After a while we took a break and took out the garbage and recycling. D woke up a while later, and I went and took a shower and left him in charge of the TV. I came out cleaned up and he was looking for something to watch. Earlier in the day he said he’s never seen Beauty and the Beast, so I suggested putting that on, which he did. I went to bed about a third of the way through it.

Monday fucking sucked.

Tuesday was better.

I slept pretty well last night. I woke up when Fiks kissed me goodbye, then I tossed and turned for a while, deciding to get up around 730 and I got my shake and sat down and watched Big Bang. I set a alarm for my class and just dozed the rest of the time. I joined class and it only took something ridiculous like 23 minutes to complete, when it normally takes closer to an hour. I’m not complaining tho. I called my parents and said good morning to them, I worked on my French in Duo for a while. Then I worked on my Spanish. I eventually got up and got dressed and started a load of laundry.

Fiks came home really quick to get his wallet, then took off again. I put on Face Off (The SFX show, not the movie), and had that going in the background for most of the afternoon. I tried to clean off the table that lives next to the sofa, I’m not sure I did any good, but I did get rid of a lot of papers, so that’s an improvement I guess. I was going to bring up the Christmas stuff, but the A/C unit is in the way, so I can’t put the tree up until that’s in its winter home. AKA the guest bedroom.

I worked and finished my math class, and I waited for my meal box to show up. It has yet to show up and its normally here by now. I also painted my nails for the first time in a while. Not the best job I’ve ever done but not the worst either. So shrug.

I started talking with our Saturday night DM about the next character I want to make, and I think that it’ll be really cool if we can get it together. Its going to be based off a book character. But looking at the Wiki the character would be insanely buff, so I’m not 100% sure on how to put them together. Maybe do some of the skills at levels. While waiting to talk with the DM I went and moved some laundry. Fiks said that he was on the way home, and I told him that the meal box didn’t show, he offered to pick up some Chinese for dinner. I called the order in to our favorite place and just waited, thankfully it didn’t take too long for him to get it and bring it home. We sat down, had dinner, watched some YouTube, and then I went to bed.

I didn’t sleep well last night. Every time my audio book would stop, I would wake up. I gave up at like 130-2 and moved to the sofa and turned on Great British Bake Off and slept to that. I woke up when Fiks said goodbye and then I dozed until my alarms went off. I got my protein shake and drank that before getting up and going and getting ready for work. I got on my scrubs, and made my lunch, fed the fish, and made my way down the mountain to work.

I totally forgot to remember that school was back in session, so I had to deal with the local high school traffic, which made me run a few minutes late. I sent my boss a text saying I’d be a few minutes late, and just waited until I could get on the freeway and drive. I got to work right when I was meant to punch in. I changed into my work shoes and sent a few texts while I was heading into the building. I said hi to everyone and did a few little things before starting the call backs. I bounced between doing the call backs and rooming for my Doctor for the day. I watched as A did the schedule, remembering I have an appointment coming up, so I put that on my managers desk and then I went up and told her.

The day went pretty well all things considered. E wasn’t there, so that was wonderful. Apparently she just is causing more and more problems and trying to order people around. She’s also sassing back to the Doctors which is going over really well. I helped with re-wrapping a dog’s ear. He had a really bad ear hematoma and that another clinic took care of and did a poor job of it. The dog was a pain in the ass, and he weighs about 100lbs. He would try and bite us if we made an effort to put a muzzle on him, so we ended up putting his cone of shame back on him and throwing a towel over his face and just delt with his screaming that sounded like he was getting murdered. We were just touching him. Once he was down we moved him to the table and rewrapped his ear. Then we moved him into a recovery room and I was able to go to lunch.

After lunch I went in and they were doing the dental. I got to help hold the dog’s mouth open while A did some stitches in her mouth. S helped when they moved to the other side and the Doctor came and did the mass removals. The whole procedure took 3 hours from start to finish according to G, who was taking vitals the whole time. I think they got done around 330 -345 ish if I remember correctly. I cleaned the surgery instruments and then I made the pack after everything was clean and between rooming people. The afternoon seemed to zoom by, and before I knew it, it was closing time. I came home and grabbed my meal box from my Sister’s house after talking with her for a while and then came back home and took a shower.

I called and talked to my parents and then I called and talked with Fiks again, and told him to tell me when he was on his way home and I’d start dinner. I made the alfredo pasta with prosciutto dish, and it was fabulous.

I’m going to leave it here this week. I know I didn’t finish, and I’m sorry. I’m having a really hard time keeping up with this with work and heading into finals at school. I’ll do what I can.

~Just keep swimming~
